Marshal Bishop was founded by factual director Mark Westcott and location producer Duncan Gaudin. Our aim is to create and co-produce ideas/content with independent production companies for UK and international broadcasters. Between us we have decades of experience in high-end specialist factual, factual and factual entertainment programme-making, helping to deliver series fronted by some of the biggest names in TV today.



Mark Westcott
Mark Westcott, Creative Director. Mark is a producer and multi-camera location director. He was a producer on the Bafta nominated second series of Gordon Ramsay’s The F-Word for Channel 4 and directed several episodes of the New York Gold Medal winning history series The Mystery Files for National Geographic. His other directing credits include the critically acclaimed Raging Planet HD for Discovery and Bear Grylls formats Escape to the Legion, Born Survivor (Man Vs Wild in the US) and the National Television Awards nominated Mission Survive. He has made series and programmes for broadcasters including Channel 4, ITV, the BBC, Discovery Channel and National Geographic and has developed programme ideas with several UK indies and broadcasters including CBS and Carlton ITV.

Duncan Gaudin
Duncan Gaudin, Creative Director. Duncan is one of the UK’s leading location producers. His credits include the RTS and Bafta award winning The Island with Bear Grylls for Channel 4, RTS and Bafta nominated The Plane Crash for Channel 4 / Discovery, NBC’s Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Channel 4’s Wild Weekends with Bear Grylls, Top Gear USA and UK for the BBC and Amazon’s The Grand Tour, National Television Awards nominated Bear Grylls: Mission Survive, six series of Bear Grylls’ Man Vs Wild, Gladiators for ITV and The League of Gentlemen for BBC 2. He has worked on content for SVOD providers Amazon and YouTube Red and broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky 1, Channel 5, NBC, History Channel and Discovery.

We have a development slate that includes precinct-based reality, survival, endurance and adventure formats and location based challenge game shows for which we are seeking partners.
